  • Spectators now allowed back in Grade 7-12 schools

Posted on    Posted in BGSD, COVID-19

At a regularly scheduled meeting with Black Gold school principals on February 17, the decision was made to allow spectators into our Grades 7 – 12 schools effective immediately.

Extracurricular activities, sports, and performances, including interscholastic games and tournaments have resumed for Grades 7 -12. Spectators are permitted at these events subject to the following restrictions from the Government of Alberta:

    • Masking is required for anyone 13 years and older (including students) while attending spectator events
    • Spectator attendance is limited to 50% of capacity
    • Spectators should maintain two-metre physical distance between households. Individuals who live alone may sit with their two designated close contacts.

We welcome back members of the school community into our events, and ask that you respect the cautionary restrictions that continue to be in place for the wellbeing of all.

For more information, please refer to the BGSD 2020-2022 BGSD Pandemic Response Plan. We encourage you to take some time to review the plan – all updates are highlighted in yellow.
