Green Certificate Program (GCP)

Prerequisite: AGR3000 (available as part of the InReach program)

GCP is an agricultural apprenticeship-style program for high school students. It is a joint effort between Alberta Education and Alberta Agriculture and Irrigation, designed to help students earn high school credits while developing practical, hands-on skills in various agricultural specializations.

Students can earn up to 16 credits by completing the program in one specialization.

Students can register in any one of the nine specializations available: and each specialization can be studied at three levels of increasing knowledge and proficiency.  Upon completing the skills for each section, the student must pass an oral exam conducted by a certified tester at a regional test centre.
