Accounting for Business 10 (3 credits)

No prerequisite

Accounting is the basis for every decision a business makes. Quite literally, every business, government institution, and organization needs to know where they started, what has happened, and where they are now so they can figure out where they are going – everyone needs an accountant. In Accounting for Business students are introduced to the terminology and processes unique to financial accounting. They become familiar with financial statements, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and how to prepare for the process of starting up a business. Students will learn how to continue on and complete the accounting cycle for a service business and prepare basic budgets, financial statements, and closing accounts. A course fee will be charged.

May include the following 1-credit courses:

FIN1015  Accounting Prep
FIN1020  Accounting Cycle 1
FIN1030  Accounting Cycle 2
