The mechanics program offers students the ability to develop skills and knowledge in the world of automotive service and mechanical repair. Students earn high school credits while exploring the potential career paths associated with mechanics. Mechanics is offered in a Junior/ Senior format. Once students have completed one of the preparatory Junior programs, they will be able to take the Senior program. A course fee will be charged.

Junior Program

Introduction to Mechanics (3-4 credits)

No prerequisite

This course allows students to learn the everyday life skills needed in owning a vehicle. Students will learn the basic functions around an automobile and may be able to work on customer vehicles

Mechanics 10B (5-6 credits)

No prerequisite

This course allows students to develop a mechanical skillset while learning the everyday life skills needed in owning a vehicle. From oil changes to tire swaps, you will learn the basic functions around an automobile. Students will be able to work on customer vehicles. In addition, mechanics students will also be the first in line to work on family vehicles.

Senior Program

The following are offered to students who have completed one of the Junior programs. These will be offer on a rotational basis at the discretion of the Mechanics teacher. This gives students an opportunity to take more than three classes of mechanics during their high school experience.
