Mentorship & Peer Support 10 (3 credits)

No prerequisite

Mentorship provides opportunities for caring youth to develop a guiding, teaching relationship with a younger person. Mentors serve as positive role models for their mentees, working to assist them with academic and social success. Mentors provide support, advice, encouragement and even friendship to their younger peers. Throughout this course, you will not only get satisfaction from helping other students, you will also gain important volunteer experience that is beneficial when applying for post secondary programs and scholarships. Students will be paired with a junior high student and will work together to grow a sense of belonging and school community.
